Meet Keith...

Keith Murphy took up the role of Operations Manager for ENGIE E&P UK Ltd in early 2013, becoming part of the company’s Development and Operations Leadership Team in Aberdeen. In early 2014 Keith’s role was extended to become the Operations and Engineering Manager after which he joined the Management Team. Earlier this year following Cygnus start-up Keith became the Cygnus Asset Manager.

Prior to joining the company, Keith worked in operations management roles for ExxonMobil, Venture Production, Centrica and Apache North Sea Ltd over a period of 15 years.

Earlier in his career he worked as an Instrument Engineer for a number of contractors and operators covering assets in the UKCS and overseas.  He graduated from Nottingham University in 1983 with a BSc(hons) in Mechanical Engineering, and became a Chartered Engineer in 1992.

Keith has spent most of his career in the Oil and Gas Industry managing technical and operational activities in the high hazard environment.  He is passionate about the importance of technical excellence in everything we do.  And he is passionate about the need for our young technicians and engineers to be mindful of the consequences when things go wrong, and also be equipped to develop and exploit the wonderful opportunities that a career in this great industry can bring.

Keith is keen to mentor a young professional who is keen to develop within their discipline or speciality, and also has a strong desire to lead others in the future.
