Meet David...
David is the General Manager at Raptek, who provide Manufacturing & Innovation Engineering Solutions for equipment and services within the Energy sector.
That follows over two decades in Electrical Engineering, Account Management, Technical Sales, and management positions, delivering growth across several market areas within the global oil & gas industry. |
With plenty of strategic and operational experience, business development and a strong network onshore, offshore, and overseas, David believes this and his passion for developing people could be an asset as a mentor to a young professional.
After seeing people within his network become Mentors with AYP, David felt this was something he wanted to be a part of. He loves opportunities to pass on experiences and skills where possible, as this was beneficial to him when he was first starting his apprenticeship and continued in his development when managing his own workload and growing his customer base & technical knowledge.
He feels it’s his duty to give back. Knowing he will be a good sounding board. “We have two ears and one mouth for a reason”
He’s passionate about the Oil & Gas sector in Aberdeen and very interested to see, how Aberdeen / Aberdeenshire will shape and evolve moving forward into new energy sectors such as battery storage, hydrogen, tidal and wind. All young professionals coming into the energy working environment, will be the future and the next long-term chapter for many years to come. So, if there is even a small area where he can add value – this would be great.
Making the move from being on the tools to commercial to management, David values building & nurturing relationships, building things from the ground up and seeing businesses & people succeed. Outside of work, David is a keen runner and has taken part in half and full marathons across the UK. He’s part of a running club and loves the team spirit that comes from it. And there’s no doubt that his family and three daughters keep him on his toes.
Finally, David always likes to follow these 5 core values: Trust, Honesty, Culture, Teamwork & Empowerment
