AYP Quiz Night - November 2021
A great evening and we were delighted to finally get our members together again for a face to face event after the pandemic. The quiz also raised essential funds for Mental Health Aberdeen.
Huge thanks to MHAs Astrid Whyte for talking to us about how we can support ourselves and others with our wellbeing. A massive thanks to the team at OGV Taproom for hosting us and for the incredible beers and service on offer! If we can take away anything from Astrid last night , it is to act quickly, ask for help and don't put it off if you are struggling. Speak up. A great quiz with a two team race to the finish, seeing a winner with one point in it! |
AYP GOLF DAY 2019 - September 2019
Aberdeen Young Professionals were looking to gather teams of 4 for our (hopefully annual) golf event. We were looking for individuals and groups to apply. Hackers to professionals were invited to have a great day out at Peterculter Golf Club. Thank you to our sponsors for making this event happen!
Gin Boom Panel Event - Marketing, USPs and Supply Chain
July 2019
An evening investigating the importance of marketing, USPs and supply chain in the increasingly crowded UK gin market, focussing on three Scottish gin distillers. We were joined by Crossbill Gin, House of Botanicals and Teasmith who provided some insight in to these areas and allowed members to sample their products! All had stands and merchandise available to purchase, as well as advice on how to serve the perfect G&T.
AYP Social Media Workshop
June 2019
Do you want to know how to get more visibility online?
Would it help you to know Social Media better if you could understand the mechanics behind it?
If you answer yes to one or both of these questions then the AYP Social Media Workshop was a must for you!
Stacy Edghill from Hibiscus Media + Events and Mike Al Alawi from EV Offshore Ltd showed our members how to use LinkedIn to increase your own personal brand and gain more business. She has a unique perspective in that her teachings are designed for the user, rather than the business.
During the workshop, Stacy and Mike provided some insight into how you can achieve results for your business through your personal page on LinkedIn.

AYP Discussion Series
Scottish Energy Minister, MSP Fergus Ewing is to launch a series of free discussion evenings as keynote speaker on behalf of Aberdeen Young Professionals (AYP) Group, the members networking platform.
Aiming to engage the region’s young professional talent pool with top decision makers from different industries, its inaugural discussion hopes to equip young professionals with the best advice to help bridge the oil and gas
industry’s skills gap.
The first event, ‘Attract, Train, Retain – Pipeline to Success’, which is also in partnership with workforce development company, OPITO, and will be presented by oil and gas presentation training company founder, Thor Holt, will begin the series at 6pm on Wednesday, April 9th, 2014 at the Copthorne Hotel, Aberdeen.
Here, like-minded young professionals will be given the chance to pose questions to a panel of oil and gas recruitment managers from both large multi-nationals operators, service companies and SMEs. This open discussion aims to bridge the gap between those looking to develop their career and those looking for the ‘best fit’ person for their business. Other guests include representatives from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen University and Oil and Gas UK.
A big thank you to our sponsors Kin-Tec (Principal Sponsor) and Keltec People (Hospitality Sponsor), our PR Partners, Speakerbox PR and our Media Partners MB Productions.
