Meet Jamie...
Jamie has worked within the Oil & Gas industry for the past 15 years, mainly within the Maintenance & Modification sector and has a wide range of experience with project work and also in day-to-day operations and maintenance contracts. Currently, he is Contract Delivery Manager at Stork. |
Jamie has been part of the AYP Mentor Scheme for over 2 years now and has been working with a mentor himself. Now though, he’s ready to start supporting the development of young professionals himself. Through working and leading an operational team, his role allows him the opportunity to engage with all aspects of the business, i.e. HSEQ, execution, commercial, client interface and HR. It’s with this experience and exposure to these key areas that he knows he could share with a mentee.
Having received great advice and guidance from mentors himself, he wants to take this opportunity to give back and share some of the knowledge and experience which I have gained over the years.
Outside of work, spending time with his wife and 4 year old daughter is his main focus. Socialising with friends which usually involves having a beer, rum or whisky in hand or following The Dons where he has a season ticket.
His advice to young people looking to young people looking to make their way in their career comes in the form of a quote and something he follows himself - ‘The greatest leaders are not necessarily the ones who do the greatest things. They are the ones that get the people to do the greatest things’
