Aberdeen Young Professionals hosted their first Discussion Series Live event on their social media channels to discuss career options for young professionals in the oil and gas industry and examine if there is a long term career in the sector.
This is further to a similar event we ran in 2014 with a panel of Recruitment professionals from the sector and the Energy Minister, where we had a large number of YPs interested in a career within the sector. However, move on almost ten years and we now see the industry suffering from an attraction issue for YPs as they choose their career path. The oil and gas sector is a large and diverse industry that requires a wide range of skills and expertise. Opportunities exist in areas including engineering, geology, finance, human resources, and many others to play a key role in the energy transition journey. |
