Meet Erikka...
Erikka Askeland has over 20 years’ experience in journalism, B2B publishing, PR, marketing and strategic communications delivery.
She set up Mediacraft in 2018 to provide strategic communications, media relations and content for a range of clients. Her work involves writing and editing news and thought leadership articles, columns and social media content; planning and executing media events; and building and defending corporate reputations. She also enjoys public speaking and chairing panels when the opportunity arises.
Her expertise is derived from long experience of corporate and B2B journalism. In her role as business editor of the Press and Journal she twice won Business and Finance Journalist of the year at the Scottish Press Awards. She spent five years at the Scotsman as senior business writer. This experience along with years working with high profile B2B publications such as Scottish Business Insider have given her significant insight into the changing Scottish and UK media landscapes which she uses to the benefit of her clients.

Originally from Canada, Erikka moved to the UK over 20 years ago and has lived and worked in Manchester, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen. She has called the Granite city home for over seven years. She lives with her husband John, an Aberdeen City councillor, and her cat Islay.
